Bath Townhouse Design Project
For this Bath townhouse the brief was to design the lower half of the garden creating a wild beauty whilst having children in mind by encouraging play. The clients were keen for the garden to have a seating area, a small raised bed for children to learn about growing and a sand pit to play in. The emphasis is on the planting - colourful and fun, with grasses used to create height and structure and give the garden a contemporary meadow feel.
For the landscaping, two separate sets of steps were removed to create one wider set which flows into a meandering walk with something different around each corner. Whilst mid-way down is the social area of the garden, which joins the lower section by using grasses and herbaceous perennials that compliment each other. This area was perfect for a more meditteranean feel and provides a relaxing sun-bathed retreat.
