For this full design project the client invited us to transform their ‘blank canvas’ townhouse garden into a space they can enjoy relaxing in as well as improve the view from their dining room window. A pathway winds through Rose archways, past a Potager for growing fruit bushes and vegetables. Different ‘rooms’ have been created which include all year round interest and make the most of a relatively small space.. The stems of the Cornus Alba to the rear of the garden are a flaming red against the white/silver bark of the Betula during winter followed by a summer flowering perennial section to the left. The area nearer the house is for lounging and is separated from the rest of the garden by coppice hurdles on each side with espalier pear trees trained in front of them underplanted with Lavender.
