Designing the Sorbus Garden
This site was previously inhabited by a large conifer tree removed a year prior to the commencement of planting project. This left a large space to fill and the client was eager to add more colour to this part of the garden. We planted densely for strong blocks of colour and using hardy perennials we created a high colour, naturalistic planting design along with grasses and three statement Sorbus trees that provide definition and structure.
Designing the Acer Garden
Originally covered in nettles and brambles this sloping bed needed to be completely cleared. Being located at the main entrance to the house, the client wanted an attractive and welcoming scheme for this part of the garden. The soil type and location was challenging – with carefully chosen perennials and grasses with an Acer as the centrepiece against a backdrop of trained Clematis, this planting area is now thriving.
